LETTER FROM HIS MAJESTY

Table of Contents

Years ago, I remember my wife received a letter from the Buckingham palace, then it was our late esteem queen Elizabeth II that was on the throne.

Though the content of the letter was a rejection of the application my wife made, to one of the job vacancies Buckingham palace advertised then, still we were thrilled to have a letter addressed to my wife from the palace!

Even though the content was not that pleasing, because of the rejection message in it, however we kept the letter and the envelope as a souvenir, as we never know, if and when we will receive any letter again from the Buckingham palace in our lifetime.

The Bible is a love letter written to you and me from the King of Kings and The Lord of Lords.
It is a letter full of love, hope and assurance.

It is disheartening of how people condemned the Bible, and if you ask them, which part of the Bible have they read, they will reply, none, but I heard that the Bible says so and so!

The bible is a spiritual love letter written to you and me, by our heavenly Father.

For instance, do you know that there is place in the Bible that says God so much love you, and He already made provision for you in His heavenly kingdom if you accept His son Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour (John 3:16)

Can I challenge you to at least read this love letter (the Bible), before making any conclusion, if you are yet to do so. On the other hand, if you have read it in the past and you are not convinced, can I ask you to read it again, with an open mind?

If you are a beginner in Bible reading, you can follow below guideline to get a better understanding of the Bible as you read it.

  • Chose a bible version that you understand
  • Have a little prayer before you start. Something like Father God thank you for your love for me, please as I am about to read your word, please speak to me, through your word, and let me be blessed through your word in Jesus name. Amen
  • Start from the new testament. If you are beginner, The book of Mark is not too long and easy to understand.
  • Read a little for instance a chapter at a time.
  • Write down what you read, ask yourself, what is this passage saying to me? How will I apply this passage in my daily living?
  • After reading, think on what you have read, this is called meditation
  • Have a little prayer to thank God for His word to you.

The Bible is not like any other book, it is spiritual and it is living. if you read it with an open mind, and if you sincerely prayed before reading it, there will be one or two passages that will catch your attention as you are reading it.

Happy reading!
God bless you
